A series that was on BBC 1 is Around The world In 80 days
I saw was, because it finished sunday. But it is on the BBCI Player. So its going to be there for a while.
You might have missed it. Also, it might not have gone international yet.
Its a ok to good version of the story.
Its not like we are drowning in fun adventure stuff, so I may as well mention it.
Its not the best version of the story. Drags a bit. And gets bogged down in issues.
I was reminded of how the cartoon in the 1980s was a lot faster and crammed more in. It should not really be giving that comparison.
It stars David Tenant as a rather complex Phileas Fogg. Hes a coward but gets braver.
Leonie Benesch as Abigail Fortescue/Fix. A very brave journalist,
Ibrahim Koma as Passpartout. A black frenchman. He is a bit eh.
It tries to tackle too much and drags down the story. The character never really get to relax and have fun.
Interesting. but it needs more fun.
The acting is good.
If you like adventure stories, you will like it.
I give it a 9/10
